Our origin story
Back in the early 1990s our founding Nerd, Mike Romaniuk, reported to a client site. Upon his arrival, someone exclaimed “We’re saved! The Rent-A-Nerd is here!” Although it was a joke at the time, the name stuck, and we owned it! Rent-A-Nerd® has come to embody what we stand for: A positive and professional, light-hearted group of, well, Nerds!
To this day, we continue to focus wholeheartedly on our people. Jim Collins, world renown philosopher and author, has inspired us to learn about what makes great companies tick. In his book ‘Good to Great’, he creates a lasting and memorable metaphor by comparing a business to a bus and the leader as a bus driver. We live by these words and strive to get the right people on the bus and in the right seats. Our people are truly our product.
At Rent-A-Nerd, we focus on supporting small to medium organizations. We’ve crafted and refined our ideal customer base so that we can provide our clients with the best possible service. Even today, we interview our prospective clients as much (sometimes more) as they interview us. We believe so strongly in the client fit with our culture that, if we don’t believe we can provide the best possible service to their business, we will refer them to another service company. We’re dedicated to finding practical solutions to our clients’ technology challenges and work alongside them to achieve their goals.
